Hey All,
Just wanted to thank you for a great fishing trip we had on
the 5th of August. Capt John was more than expert at finding the fish
and Brian the mate worked very hard to keep everything in order and
was very helpful to all of us. You all do nice work!
Thanks again,
Ray
August Brings in Great Seward Fishing
Captain Jj and Deckhand Justin started off August with limits in Ling-Cod and Halibut with several Silvers (Coho Salmon) and Rock Fish also caught.Fishing is especially great when the weather cooperates and there are daily Halibut coming into the docks exceeding 100 pounds and occasional Halibut breaking the 200 pound mark. Largest Seward caught Halibut this summer exceeded 350 pounds. Ling Cod are consistently exceeding 40 pounds with frequent fish exceeding 50 lbs. The Silvers are getting fatter and fatter every day as they feed in the salt water.
Winner of the Seward Jackpot Halibut Tournament
Seward Adventure Charters wins 2007 Seward Jackpot Halibut Tournament!!!
It is finally official and in the books for the season. We have won the halibut tournament in Seward with a 251.2 pound "HOG" caught by David Hicks of Anchorage on June 24th. We are glad it's over and we can move on to focus on all the other species of fish that need our attention like Ling-Cod, Silver Salmon and Rock Fish along with the Halibut. Actually, what I meant to say is that the pressure is off and the tournament is in the books with us on top. A very good feeling and well deserved as we leave the docks on every good weather day in the summer with the intent of catching fish like this one. We caught 5 fish larger last year and hope to exceed that number this year. Come on out and help us catch another trophy fish! (Halibut are considered trophy's once they reach the 200lb mark)

Kings, Halibut and Orcas
Today was a unique day for us. While trolling for Kings we watched a couple of Orcas for a couple of hours. Our clients had the thrill of seeing them up fairly close but the down side is that they wreacked havoc on the King bite. We weren't the only ones chasing the Kings and although we are good they are better. We did manage to catch 6 Kings on a slow bite and then moved out to fish for Halibut. We got a limit of Halibut although none over 65 pounds.
