Seward Fishing - Testimonals
Fishing with Seward Adventure Charters
"On our chosen day the weather gods were definitely on our side.Resurrection Bay was almost like
a sheet of glass nice slow rollers with the temperature around 60 degrees. The skipper greeted our party like we were old friends. After introductions were complete. He held a very informative safety briefing to include the use of radios and the GPS. This way all on board would be able to call for
help if needed. The run out to the fishing hole was smooth which gave us time to site see and get
to know each other. We were able to see Sea Lions, Sea Birds and the Beautiful scenery. After
setting the anchor the crew instructed the use of the gear and how to fish for halibut in the Gulf of Alaska. We were using 1 to 2 pound weights in 80 feet of water. For those of you who have fished Halibut in Alaska you understand the joy of this. In Cook Inlet it’s 4 or 5 pounds of lead in 2 to 3 hundred feet of water. After we started fishing it didn’t take long to set the first hook. When the first
fish came on board it weighted right at 80lbs. We caught our limit of halibut 7 of which were over
80 lbs with 3 of them over 100 lbs. We also caught 10 Black Sea Bass and 5 or 6 Ling Cod which
we had to release because they were out of season. On returning to the harbor the crew filleted
and bagged our catch. Very nice touch. My guests were very pleased for the time we spent together. They thanked the crew for a great day and congratulated them on how well they worked together
and there fishing knowledge.
To the owner and crew I say think you for you dedication to your customers."

"An old buddy of mine have started a tradition of going on a charter fishing trip each year after school is out (we both work for a school district in the interior). This year we went with Seward Adventure Charters for one reason - they were the most flexible company willing to fish the species we wanted to in June; halibut and salmon. Were we glad! We arrived on a spectacular morning and the crew was excited. This was their first chance this year to get out for salmon because the weather had been terrible. We went out and fished until our arms nearly fell off! For 6 hours, we caught fish after fish after fish; halibut, king salmon, sockeye salmon, ling cod and black cod. My buddy and I went home with 51 lbs of beautifully processed halibut and salmon. The crew was wonderful and took fabulous care of our catch. With the amount of meat we got we payed less than $7/lb. (that includes charter cost, processing and tips!) Try to find that in any grocery store for fresh, wild salmon or halibut. And no grocery store will give you that kind of fun! Seward Adventure Charters is the only company I'll fish with again. We might just have to up that tradition to twice a year...."
